CouchCast Product Terms

1. Purchase and delivery

CouchCast is sold as a one-time digital download through Dodo Payments. Dodo Payments handles checkout, payment, applicable transaction taxes, receipts, and digital-file delivery. Your purchase receipt identifies the seller and the amount charged.

2. CouchCast license

A completed purchase grants the purchaser a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the purchased CouchCast version on compatible Apple Silicon Macs owned or controlled by the purchaser. CouchCast is licensed, not sold. The purchase does not transfer CouchCast trademarks, artwork, or proprietary source code.

3. Compatibility and local-network operation

The initial release requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14.4 or later and a supported Chromecast on the same local network. Media compatibility depends on the source container, codecs, tracks, subtitles, receiver capabilities, and local network. CouchCast does not bypass DRM or copy protection.

4. Third-party software

CouchCast includes FFmpeg 9.0 and other open-source components. Those components remain owned by their respective authors and are provided under their own licenses. The applicable notices, exact corresponding source archives, build materials, and checksums are available at couchcast.app/compliance/0.1.0.

Nothing in these terms restricts rights granted by an applicable open-source license. In particular, these terms do not prohibit reverse engineering or modification where the GNU Lesser General Public License permits it.

5. Updates and availability

The purchase provides the version delivered at checkout. It does not promise a subscription, cloud service, perpetual compatibility with future macOS or Chromecast releases, or every future major CouchCast version. Any update policy presented at purchase forms part of the offer for that transaction.

6. Refunds and mandatory consumer rights

Refund requests are handled through the purchase record and Dodo Payments. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded in the purchaser’s jurisdiction.
